Brothers and Sisters, On September 6, 2023 Hartford Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 30 lost a great friend, brother and 2nd Vice President Robert "Bobby" Garten. Detective Robert “Bobby” Garten was a true hero who dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. In his honor, Hartford Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 30 has created the 1781 Golf Classic, an event to continue his legacy of compassion and generosity.

The Hartford Leg of the 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run run will take place on Thursday, May 30th - we will meet at 1530 hours. The route is the same as last year, starting here at 50 Williams Street and ending at the West Hartford town line. Officers can continue to West Hartford Center for the rally if you choose. There will be a break added in so runners can hydrate before continuing to West Hartford Center. All runners must purchase and wear the 2024 shirt to participate. An effort is now underway to lift the spirits of an injured Hartford police officer who is recovering after a crash that killed his partner in the line of duty last week.

Hartford Police Detective Robert “Bobby” Garten, 34 of Newington, CT died tragically in the line of duty on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 when his police cruiser was struck by a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop.
